Arts & Crafts Brass Cantilever Candlestick
A heavy and sculptural brass cantilever candlestick attributed to British designer Christopher Dresser for Benham & Froud.
Dating to the 1890’s, the candlestick would have originally been used to light the keys of a grand piano. A beautifully made weighted piece, this design is also referred to as a ‘cannonball’ design. A very cool, tactile candlestick, with delicately curled feet.
This piece has a makers mark to its base, and has minimal wear aligned with its age and use.
Sourced in the UK.
The candlestick measures 29cm long, 13cm tall.
