A beautifully hand carved wooden hornbill ‘nature spirit’ from the Adan people of Ghana.
Fantastically sculptural and tactile, the surface of the piece has a fantastic patina with remnants of kaolin clay. The hornbill bird being recognised as the ‘King of Birds’, this piece would have been traditionally placed on an altar.
