A hand carved French alpine chair, made in walnut and dating to the 19th century.
Originating from the Alsace region of Eastern France, the chair is beautifully sculptural with a pierced swirl and fleur-de-lis design to its back. A traditional example of a French folk chair, this piece has been well made and is honest and sturdy in its construction. Perfectly styled as an occasional chair in a hallway, bedroom or bathroom alike.
This piece has wear aligned with its age and use, the wood has a beautifully warm patina.
