A beautifully carved heavy mortar. Originally used for grinding spices and other ingredients.
Incredibly sculptural, this piece is multifunctional, it can be used both as a side table or as a large planter. The piece features two interesting carvings, firstly the initials ‘B.S’ and a second more intricate symbol nearer it’s base.
Due to the style of the engravings we believe the piece to be of European descent, likely dating to the 18th century.
